Protection from lawsuits for good-faith record decisions

This section protects people who honestly decide whether to release or withhold a government record. If they act in good faith, they cannot be sued or charged for that decision. It covers both civil and criminal liability.

The statute, as written — Immunity from liability

Anyone participating in good faith in the disclosure or nondisclosure of a government record shall be immune from any liability, civil or criminal, that might otherwise be incurred, imposed or result from such acts or omissions.
