Number of appraisers for state-required property appraisals

When state law requires a property appraisal before a sale or purchase, the government agency or officer in charge chooses the number of appraisers. That number must be at least one, but no more than three, and each appraiser must be disinterested (not biased).

Whenever the laws of the State require the appraisal of property prior to sale or purchase, the number of appraisers shall be one or more but not more than three disinterested persons, the number to be determined in the discretion of the government agency or officer required to have the appraisal made.
