Who runs state-owned cemeteries

The state comptroller is in charge of all state-owned cemeteries. This includes taking care of them, fixing them up, selling or getting rid of them, deciding who owns plots, and keeping records of plots, burials, and removals.

The comptroller shall be responsible for the operation, maintenance, improvement, redevelopment, and disposal of state-owned cemeteries; for the determination of ownership of plots therein; and for the proper maintenance of records pertaining to the cemeteries, including cemetery plot plans, and records of plot ownership, interments, and disinterments.
