State defense force cannot be sent to federal service

This section says the Hawaii state defense force cannot be called or drafted into the U.S. military. Also, joining the state defense force does not exempt anyone from required U.S. military service.

Nothing in this chapter shall be construed as authorizing the Hawaii state defense force or any part thereof to be called, ordered, or in any manner drafted as such into the military service of the United States; provided no person by reason of the person's enlistment or appointment in the Hawaii state defense force shall be exempted from military service under any law of the United States.
