911 service contracts

A phone or internet company does not have to give you 911 service until it signs a written deal with the local 911 call center. The deal must list the basic terms of the service. This section only sets that contract requirement.

A communications service provider shall not be required to provide 911 service until the communications service provider and the public safety answering point providing 911 service in the county or counties in which the communications service provider is licensed to provide communications service have entered into a written agreement setting forth the basic terms of service to be provided.
