Written reports for consignment farm sales

A commission merchant who sells a farmer's produce on consignment must send the farmer a written report about that sale. The report must be sent within the time and in the way the state agriculture department requires. Making a false or incorrect report is a crime.

The statute, as written — Reports of consignment sales

Every commission merchant shall make a written report to the producer for farm produce handled on consignment on behalf of said producer, within the time and manner as may be prescribed by the department. Making a false or incorrect report shall constitute a misdemeanor under section 145-12.
