Registering to handle poultry and related products

You must register with the board before doing certain poultry-related business in Hawaii, like brokering, rendering, making animal food, wholesaling carcasses, storing them, or buying/selling dead or sick birds. You must give your name, business addresses, and trade names.

The statute, as written — Registration

No person shall engage in business in or for intrastate commerce, as a poultry broker, renderer, or animal food manufacturer, or as the wholesaler of any carcasses, or parts or products of the carcasses, of any poultry, whether intended for human food or other process, or engage in business as a public warehouse worker storing any such articles in or for intrastate commerce, or engage in the business of buying, selling, or transporting in intrastate commerce, any dead, dying, disabled, or diseased poultry or parts of the carcasses of any poultry that died otherwise than by slaughter, unless the person has registered with the board the person's name and the address of each place of business at which, and all trade names under which, the person conducts such business.
