Money for managing Mauna Kea

This section creates a special fund for Mauna Kea management. Money goes into it from the legislature, other allowed sources, grants, donations, and interest. The fund pays for administration, building projects, and other work allowed by this law.

The statute, as written — Mauna Kea management special fund

(a) There is established the Mauna Kea management special fund into which shall be deposited: (1) Appropriations from the legislature; (2) Moneys from supplemental sources as authorized by the authority, pursuant to the powers granted by this chapter; (3) Any grant or donation made to the special fund; and (4) Any interest earned on the balance of the special fund. (b) Proceeds from the special fund shall be used for administration, capital improvement projects, and other purposes pursuant to this chapter.
