Using agents and other companies

This section lets the housing corporation use other companies as agents to carry out its housing project powers. It can create new companies or buy stock in existing ones. If it fully owns a company, that company can also use those powers, as allowed by law.

The statute, as written — Agents, including corporations

The corporation may exercise any or all of the powers conferred upon it, either generally or with respect to any specific housing project through an agent that it may designate, including any corporation that is formed under the laws of this State, and for such purposes the corporation may cause one or more corporations to be formed under the laws of this State or may acquire the capital stock of any corporation. Any corporate agent, all of the stock of which shall be owned by the corporation or its nominee, to the extent permitted by law, may exercise any of the powers conferred upon the corporation in this chapter.
