Putting tax stamps on export or altered cigarette packs is a crime

This law makes it a serious crime to knowingly put a cigarette tax stamp on cigarette packages meant for export or on packages that have been changed illegally. The punishment is a class B felony.

A person shall be guilty of a class B felony if the person knowingly affixes any cigarette tax stamp required under this chapter to the package of any cigarettes described in section 245-51 or altered in violation of section 245-52.
