How the air carrier commission hires its staff

The air carrier commission can hire people it needs to do its work, either by contract or not, without following the usual state hiring rules. The commission decides what the staff can do, what their jobs are, and how much they get paid.

The air carrier commission may appoint and employ, on a contractual or noncontractual basis not subject to chapter 76, persons the commission determines necessary for the performance of the commission's functions.
