Acquiring property for highways

This section lets the state transportation director get land for highways and service roads. The state can receive land as a gift, inherit it, buy it, or take it through eminent domain. It only covers how the state may acquire the land.

The statute, as written — - 63 Acquisition of property

For the purposes of this part, the director of transportation may acquire for controlled-access facilities and service roads: (1) Property, as defined in chapter 101, by gift, devise, or purchase; or (2) Property by eminent domain under chapter 101.
