Compensation for damage

When the corporation uses its legal powers under section 273-3, it must cause as little damage as possible and must fully pay everyone harmed for their losses, following the process in chapter 101. This section is narrow and only covers the duty to compensate.

The statute, as written — Compensation to be made

In the exercise of the powers mentioned in section 273-3, the corporation shall do as little damage as can be; and shall make full compensation in the manner provided in chapter 101, to all parties interested for all damage sustained by reason of the exercise of such power.
