HRS §279J-3
Transportation network company permit
This section requires any transportation network company (like a ride-hailing service) to get a state permit before operating in Hawaii. The state director sets the application rules and collects an annual fee. Companies already operating before 2023 can keep running until the director sets up the process and deadline.
