Penalty for motor carriers

Unless indicated otherwise, any motor carrier or any agent, employee, or representative thereof, who wilfully and knowingly fails, neglects or refuses to perform any act required by this part or by rules adopted by the director under this part shall be fined not more than $2,000 for each separate offense. Each date of violation shall constitute a separate offense. An action to impose or collect the penalty provided in this section shall be considered a civil action. [L Sp 1977 1st, c 20, pt of §1]
