Fees for vehicle plan approval applications

The state transportation director sets fees for reviewing plans and specifications for building or changing a motor vehicle that will be driven on Hawaii's highways. The fees must be fair and reasonable. This section only covers the fee-setting process.

The director shall establish fair and reasonable fees for applications for approval of plans and specifications for construction or modification of a motor vehicle or class of motor vehicles in Hawaii which will at any time be operated upon the highways as provided in section 286-202(12).
