HRS §286-217
Out-of-state shipping container chassis: registration and safety inspection
This section lets a shipping container chassis with a valid out-of-state registration get a Hawaii safety inspection and decal. The out-of-state registration stays valid in Hawaii until it expires in the other state, but if you get a Hawaii safety inspection, it is valid for one year from that inspection.
