Statewide traffic rules

This section says the state's traffic rules apply everywhere in Hawaii, including all counties. If a traffic matter is not covered by state law, a county can make its own rule about it. This is a short, general rule about how traffic laws work.

The statute, as written — Provisions uniform throughout State

This chapter shall be applicable and uniform throughout the State and in all political subdivisions therein provided that any matter not covered in this chapter relating to rules of the road may be subject to appropriate county ordinances in any county.
