Speed limits and safe driving rules for mopeds

This law sets speed rules for moped drivers. You must drive at a safe speed for the conditions, and you cannot go faster than 35 miles per hour (58 kilometers per hour).

The statute, as written — Speed restrictions on mopeds

(a) No person shall drive a moped at a speed other than is reasonable and prudent under the conditions and having regard to the actual and potential hazards then existing. (b) No person shall drive a moped at a speed greater than thirty-five miles per hour (fifty-eight kilometers per hour).
