Lane direction control signals

This rule is about special traffic lights above individual lanes on a street or highway. A green light means you may drive in that lane. A red light means you must not enter or drive in that lane.

The statute, as written — Lane-direction-control signals

When lane-direction-control signals are placed over the individual lanes of a street or highway, vehicular traffic may travel in any lane over which a green signal is shown, but shall not enter or travel in any lane over which a red signal is shown.
