Who must yield at an intersection

When two cars reach an intersection at about the same time, the car on the left must let the car on the right go first. This rule changes on through highways or as other parts of the law say.

The statute, as written — Vehicle approaching or entering intersection

(a) When two vehicles approach or enter an intersection from different highways at approximately the same time, the driver of the vehicle on the left shall yield the right-of-way to the vehicle on the right. (b) The right-of-way rule declared in subsection (a) is modified at through highways and otherwise as stated in this chapter.
