HRS §302A-1141

No physical punishment for students except in special cases

This section bans all physical punishment of students in schools. It only allows exceptions that are written in two other specific laws. Teachers and school staff must follow this rule.

No physical punishment of any kind may be inflicted upon any pupil, except as provided for under sections 302A-1141.4 and 703-309(2).
