HRS §302A-611

Taking approved leave does not cost teachers their tenure

This section says that when the Department of Education grants a teacher an approved leave of absence, that leave does not take away any tenure rights the teacher already earned under section 302A-608. In other words, taking approved time off will not hurt your job security.
