Moving teachers to a higher pay class

This section says that when a teacher becomes eligible for a higher class, they must be moved to that class at the start of the next semester. They will then get the pay that goes with that higher class.

The statute, as written — Change in classification

Any teacher who qualifies for a higher class shall be transferred to the higher class as of the beginning of the next semester and shall receive the salary at the appropriate step and range of the higher class.
