Salary reduction does not change retirement contributions

If you agree to a lower salary under this chapter, your retirement contribution is still based on your original regular pay. The reduction does not change the amount used to calculate your retirement system contribution.

A reduction in salary authorized by an employee under terms of this chapter shall in no way alter the amount of regular compensation or gross salary upon which the employee's contribution to the employees' retirement system is based.
