State emergency medical services system setup

The state health department must create, run, and keep up an emergency medical services system for people in the service area. Any ambulance or emergency services that the department or a county hires must follow the rules in this part.

The department shall establish, administer, and maintain the state emergency medical services system to serve the emergency health needs of the people in the service area. All emergency medical services or ambulance services contracted by or under the authority of the department or any county within the service area shall be consistent with this part.
