State health department can run cancer education programs

The health department may create and run a statewide program to teach people how to prevent cancer and find it early. It can also help other groups that run similar cancer education programs.

The statute, as written — Educational program

The department of health may formulate and put into effect throughout the State an educational program for the purpose of preventing cancer and of aiding in its early diagnosis. In the furtherance of this program, the department may assist and cooperate with all territorial, state, and national organizations conducting educational programs for the prevention and control of cancer.
