Maternal death reviews

This section allows the state health department to bring together experts from different fields and agencies to review maternal deaths. The goal is to find ways to prevent future deaths. It does not require anyone to do anything or create penalties.

The department of health may conduct multidisciplinary and multiagency reviews of maternal deaths to reduce the incidence of preventable maternal deaths.
