Faking a donation document for money is a crime

This law makes it a serious crime to change or hide a document about donating your body parts, or a refusal to donate, if you do it to make money. The punishment can be a big fine, jail time, or both.

The statute, as written — Penalty

Any person that, to obtain a financial gain, intentionally falsifies, forges, conceals, defaces, or obliterates a document of gift, an amendment or revocation of a document of gift, or a refusal to make an anatomical gift commits a class C felony and upon conviction is subject to a fine not exceeding $50,000, imprisonment not exceeding five years, or both.
