Provision of services

The department must help each person make a personal service plan, tell them how much money is available for it, and let them decide how to spend that money. This section is about the department's duties to the person receiving services.

The department shall: (1) Assist the individual to develop, with the help of family and friends if necessary, an individualized service plan; (2) Identify the amount of dollars available to the individual to effectuate the individualized service plan; and (3) Allow consumers to direct the expenditure of the identified funds.
