When this law applies to family requests for forced outpatient care

This section says that, despite other laws, the rules in this part apply to all petitions filed by family members to force outpatient treatment for someone whose main diagnosis is substance abuse. It only sets the scope of the law.

The statute, as written — Application

Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, this part shall apply to all petitions filed by family members seeking involuntary outpatient commitment of the respondent with substance abuse as the primary diagnosis.
