Who is exempt

This section lists who is exempt from the rules in this part. It does not apply to health care providers who don't accept Medicare, or to qualified patients already diagnosed with dementia or mild cognitive impairment, or those who can't take a cognitive assessment due to a physical or mental disability.

This part shall not apply to: (1) Health care providers who do not accept medicare insurance; (2) Qualified patients who have already received a diagnosis of dementia or mild cognitive impairment; and (3) Qualified patients who are unable to undergo a cognitive assessment due to a physical or mental impairment or disability.
