Who pays for a child placed under the compact

This section says that the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children decides who pays for a child placed under it. If the person responsible does not pay fully or at all, other laws can also be used to make them pay.

The statute, as written — Financial responsibility for child placed under compact

Financial responsibility for any child placed pursuant to the provisions of the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of Article V of the compact in the first instance. However, in the event of partial or complete default of performance thereunder, the provisions under any other chapter also may be invoked.
