What happens to compensation rights when someone dies

This section says that the right to get compensation under this chapter is personal and ends when the person who is entitled to it dies. But if that person already filed an application before dying, the case can continue through the estate's legal representative.

The rights to compensation created by this chapter are personal and shall not survive the death of the person or beneficiary entitled thereto, provided that if such death occurs after an application for compensation has been filed with the commission, the proceeding shall not abate, but may be continued by the legal representative of the decedent's estate.
