Rules for running the Kawailoa youth and family wellness center

This section lets the Hawaii youth correctional facilities run the Kawailoa youth and family wellness center using approved funds. It also requires that youth committed to the correctional facilities be kept separate from youth and young adults admitted to the wellness center.

(a) The Hawaii youth correctional facilities may operate and maintain the Kawailoa youth and family wellness center within the scope of the authority granted by the office of youth services pursuant to section 352D-7.5, using funds appropriated or approved by the legislature for this purpose. (b) Persons committed to the Hawaii youth correctional facilities shall be segregated from youth and young adults admitted to the Kawailoa youth and family wellness center. For purposes of this section, "young adult" has the same meaning as in section 352D-3.
