Sheriff or police to assist

This section lets the housing authority ask the sheriff or police for help when it takes, holds, or sells personal property under two other sections. If asked, the sheriff or officer must help. It is a short procedural rule about getting law enforcement assistance.

The statute, as written — Sheriff or police to assist

The authority, in taking, seizing, holding, retaining, or selling any personal property pursuant to sections 356D-52 and 356D-53, may require the assistance of the sheriff or any authorized police officer of any county. Any sheriff or officer, when required, shall assist the authority.
