Guidance on discriminatory reporting

The Department of Law Enforcement, working with the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission, must tell the public about the legal consequences and options for people who make discriminatory reports to police under this law. This section only covers that guidance duty.

The department of law enforcement, in consultation with the Hawaii civil rights commission, shall provide guidance to the public on the civil liability and remedies available for discriminatory reporting to a law enforcement officer pursuant to this chapter.
