Independent doctor exam for injured workers

The labor director can pick a qualified neutral doctor to check an injured worker and give a report. The state pays for this exam using money set aside for the labor department. This section only covers that exam process.

The statute, as written — Examination by impartial physician

The director of labor and industrial relations may appoint a duly qualified impartial physician to examine the injured employee and to report. The fees for such examination shall be paid from the funds appropriated by the legislature for the use of the department of labor and industrial relations.
