When federal rules replace state workplace safety rules

This section says that Hawaii's workplace safety law does not apply to working conditions that a federal agency already has the power to regulate for occupational safety and health. If the federal government sets and enforces those standards, the state law steps aside.

Nothing in this chapter shall apply to working conditions of employees with respect to which any federal agency exercises statutory authority to prescribe and enforce standards or regulations affecting occupational safety or health.
