HRS §412:4-104

Federal deposit insurance required

Hawaii financial institutions must not take deposits unless those deposits are insured by the federal agency that covers them. Credit unions must also have their deposits or shares insured by the federal credit union agency. This is a narrow rule about insurance before accepting money.
