If one part is invalid, the rest still stands
This section says that if a court decides one part of this law is invalid, the rest of the law still works. The invalid part is separated out, and the other parts continue to apply as usual.

The statute, as written — Severability
If any provision of this chapter or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the invalidity shall not affect other provisions or applications of this chapter that can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this chapter are severable.
