Cash or securities instead of a bond
An attorney can put cash or approved securities with the insurance commissioner instead of getting a bond. The deposit must be for the same amount and follow the same rules as the bond would.

In lieu of the bond, the attorney may maintain on deposit with the commissioner a like amount in cash or in value of securities qualified under this code as insurers' investments, and subject to the same conditions as the bond.
