HRS §431:8-203
Insurance contracts made with unlicensed companies can be canceled
If an insurance company that is not allowed to do business in Hawaii makes a contract with you, that contract is not automatically valid. You can cancel it, but the insurance company cannot use the law to cancel it. This protects you from dealing with unlicensed insurers.
