When the insurance commissioner can waive a rule

The insurance commissioner can waive a rule or law for a person or producer if they ask in writing and show a good reason. This section only explains the waiver process, not when waivers are granted.

The statute, as written — Commissioner ' s authority to grant waiver

Upon receiving a written request and a showing of good cause, the commissioner may grant a waiver of any requirement of an insurance law or rule as applied to an applicant or a producer.
