When insurance license exams are given

The insurance commissioner schedules exams at times and places in Hawaii that work for both the commissioner and applicants. If you fail two similar exams, the commissioner can make you wait up to six months before taking another one.

The statute, as written — Time of examinations

(a) The commissioner shall give examinations at such times and places within this State as are reasonably necessary to serve the convenience of both the commissioner and applicants. (b) The commissioner may require a waiting period of not more than six months before giving a new examination to an applicant who has failed to pass two previous similar examinations.
