Commissioner can waive insurance rules

This section lets the insurance commissioner waive an insurance law or rule for a person or producer if they ask in writing and show a good reason. It does not require the commissioner to grant the waiver, only gives the authority to do so.

The statute, as written — Commissioner's authority to grant waiver

Upon the receiving of a written request and a showing of good cause, the commissioner shall have the authority to grant a waiver of any requirement of an insurance law or insurance rule as applied to an applicant or a producer.
