When a repair shop counts as certified

A repair dealer is considered licensed and certified if at least half of its full-time mechanics are licensed-certified mechanics. This rule sets the minimum staffing requirement for certification.

A dealer is a licensed and certified motor vehicle repair dealer if not less than fifty per cent of the mechanics employed by the dealer on a full-time basis are licensed-certified mechanics.
