Fake MMA fights cause license loss

A promoter who knowingly puts on a fake or sham mixed martial arts contest loses their license automatically. The promoter and their officers, partners, or members can never get another license again.

The statute, as written — Sham mixed martial arts contest; forfeiture of license

Any promoter who conducts, holds, gives, or participates in any sham or fake mixed martial arts contest, knowing the same to be a sham or fake, shall forfeit the license issued in accordance with this chapter, and the license shall be automatically terminated by the director. The promoter and any officers, partners, or members of the promoter shall not thereafter be entitled to receive and shall not be given another license.
