Private right to sue

This section says that if someone breaks this chapter's rules and you lose money because of it, you can sue them in court to get your money back and, if the law allows, your lawyer's fees. It does not create new rules, just protects your right to sue.

The statute, as written — Private right of action

Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to preclude any individual or entity that suffers loss as a result of a violation of this chapter from maintaining a civil action to recover damages and, as provided by statute, attorney's fees.
