Telehealth nursing must follow privacy laws

This section says that when nurses provide services through telehealth, they must follow all federal and state rules about privacy, security, and keeping patient information confidential. It applies to nursing care given remotely.

The statute, as written — Telehealth; privacy, security, and confidentiality

[Section effective January 1, 2017.] Services relating to the practice of nursing provided by telehealth pursuant to this chapter shall be consistent with all federal and state privacy, security, and confidentiality laws.
